Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry (FHFH) Comes to Canada

Successful hunters donate deer and other big game to partnering butcher shops that are licensed and inspected by some branch of government, such as the health department. Local Soup Kitchens as well as local feeding programs and ministries that feed the hungry pick up the packaged, frozen meat from the butcher shops: and serve it to or distribute to the hungry among us. FHFH raises money to cover the butchering costs so that hunters can donate their deer or big game Free of charge to the hunters.

FHFH, A ministry that began during 1997 in Washington County, Maryland (USA) now has Coordinators in over half of America and now FHFH has spread into Canada. Since its inception, FHFH has provided nutritious meat for millions of meals to the food banks and agencies that serve the poor across the United States. FHFH Canada is looking to provide a similar blessing to the hungry of the Canadian Provinces & Territories.

During these tough economic times, more and more people are forced to look for help from soup kitchens or assistance. Red meat is the least available food item because of its high cost and the inconvenience of donating it during food drives. The ministry (FHFH) pays the cost of processing and packaging the meat. FHFH Canada needs public support in order to accept and process donated deer and other big game for which Canada is known to abound. Did you know that one average whitetail deer of 50 pounds will provide 200 quarter pound servings of protein-rich red meat to the hungry who normally just do without? Let us FILL the soup kitchens in Canada. The average price for processing is around $50 per deer.

FHFH Canada needs financial support to accept and process the deer and other big game donated by hunters. FHFH Canada, Inc.  needs many volunteers, deer donors and supporters to help FILL the soup kitchens of the nation with nutritious, high protein, low fat venison!
